What is it? Float valves are used to shut down your reverse osmosis system when the float is elevated,It automatically start and stop water flow.The float is adjustable to allow you to control the water height.It fits standard O.D. 1/4 inch or 3/8" inch Copper, CPVC, PEX and PVC tubing for most RO systems Where to use it? Float valves are simple to install and can save a lot of water from ending up on the floor. They can be installed in containers as small 1 gallon pails, sumps, and 200 plus gallon commercial storage containers to shut off the flow of water. Even if you do not have a large storage container a simple 5 gallon bucket with a float valve installed in it will help save money from having water end up on the floor or best case scenario just going down the drain. Also you can convert any coffee or espresso machine to automatic refill How to use it? Installation is as easy as drilling a small hole in the container, sliding the float in and attaching using the included nut. and then pop in your 1/4" tubing into 90 degree 1/4 tube fitting , pushing until it won't go in. Review: Exactly what i needed - Needed this for my kureg. I might ad an inline filter too. I would suggest to keep pressure as low as you can, that will still keep up with demand. That will keep the valve from being under too much pressure and may help it last longer. Also don't forget to add a valve close to the the float valve for easy shut off for regular machine maintenance. This is my set up, a splitter under my sink to a valve under the sink set as low as i could, to a valve right behind my machine, to the float valve. Works great.
Review: For Vertical mounting only. - I bought these for a project where they needed to be mounted on a horizontal surface. So, they didn't work for me. But, they are of nice quality so, I'll just keep them for when another project presents itself.

**Q: Can this be mounted in the bottom of a tank?**
A: it is wall mounted or ceilling mounted.  if you mounted in the bottom of the tank, it will not shut off. so i suppose not.

**Q: What specific plastic is this made of? chemically i mean is it hdpe? or ??**

**Q: Has anyone used this float valve for the back of the tank of a Keurig K50 coffee maker or the like? If so, what was the results?**
A: I used it in my Keurig (not sure of model number)  it has worked great.  Have not had to add water since and no leaks.

**Q: Can this be mounted on the side of a tank that has no lid?**
A: I suppose if you want to have it as an eyesore in tank and you can rig it, or have a hole drilled in the tank.

Great price, the valve came assembled backwards. Took a few minutes to realize that it was assemble backwards. One screw, turned the float around or upside down and it worked great after that.
