Depends on height. Don't but though they burn out or pop fast. Do not put to close and always aim the bulb in a downward position on animal never pointing up into face. when using follow directions and mimic the sun, always shining down. Last , if there is a reason your asking is this bulb to bright. because if theres a possible issue with specimen . You must use your own discretion.
