Because you can't control the viscosity of the base stock in larger bottles of additive you risk changing the viscosity of your oil. The most important part is what the final ppm number is, you don't want too much but you don't want too little either. We have developed and tested our additives to be sure it provides the correct level of protection without changing oil viscosity through the use of unneeded fillers. **Q: My 351W in a classic mustang uses 5 quarts, so im assuming I should add only 1.666 ounces?** A: You could, but by using the whole bottle you are just adding more zink to the oil which wont harm anything. I use this all the time in my equipment and have oil analysis performed at oil changes.
