We do not categorize it as coarse or fine. **Q: I've heard this wheel is remarkably wide - will it fit the DW758 without removing the shroud?** A: I have an 8-inch dewalt bench grinder (I think it's a 758 but i"m not 100% sure). The wheel fits inside the shroud, but some stray wires do rub on the inside of the side panels. It doesn't bother me, but I suppose you could take nippers to the problem if it bothered you. **Q: Some wire wheels are too thin in the center, where the arbor is, in order for the flange discs to tighten against it tightly. About how thick is it?** A: Not sure how thick the center of the wire wheel is, but what I did do is get 2 large washers(sp) to thicken the center. It has been a very long time when this was done so. This makes it suitable for use on most buffing machines with a two pole 50Hz induction motor running at a nominal 2880 rpm. There are similar brushes available on Amazon at a much lower price, but the delivery is horrendously long ( six months in one case) and their quality is unknown. I ordered it to replace an identical brush which has given around 8 years service.
