I have 2 other tripod bags for my other Gitzo tripods, but they are flimzy, and have to be held vertically and than you slide the tripod into them from a vertical position. This bag you can unzip 1/4 -1/3 the way, and pull out or slide the tripod bag in easily. Bag material also of good quality material. Expensive, but worth the build quality and convenience factor. My tripods are expensive.....high end heads, tripod leveling base.....and do not want dirt int them, or dust building up when in storage at home. It is well made and more than sturdy enough to carry this 16 pound optical tube. It has very high density padding on all sides, bottom and top, even on the exterior pocket. It is not super thick, but enough to provide protection unless you get crazy.
