It’s plastic but is very smooth without any seams our flaws in the finish. It feels very soothing to the scalp. It’s easy to get the hair out of the bristles when finished. If you have thick or curly hair it may not be as effective since the bristles are pretty flexible. I haven’t noticed my hair being less frizzy but I didn’t expect that it would solve that problem.
