## Description

“Minneapolis record indicates that 75% are successful in A.A.” - The A.A. Grapevine , August, 1946 In 1942, Ed W. began teaching the “Twelve Step Study” classes that helped the Minneapolis Group achieve their 75% recovery rate. Then in 1946, he and Barry C. (The first sober A.A. in the state) published the lectures used for these classes as a book. Initially titled The Twelve Steps , it was affectionately nicknamed “the little red book.” Back in print for the first time in more than 65 years, the original 1946 edition reveals firsthand how some of A.A.’s earliest members made the program their way of life . Everyone from newcomers to oldtimers will find a wealth of practical experience in this comprehensive guide to the Twelve Steps. Praise for the 1946 edition of The Little Red Book : “I have enjoyed your little book very much & know that it will prove to be of a lot of help to many.” - Dr. Bob , co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous From a letter to Ed W., dated December 29th, 1946 “Everybody who has read it seems to like it very much—which of course was to be expected!” - Bill W. , co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous From a letter to Ed W., dated November 14th, 1946 In order to facilitate study by the broadest possible audience, references to page numbers in the book Alcoholics Anonymous have been altered to correspond to those used in the Fourth Edition. No other changes have been made to the original text. Don't be misled! Look for "The Original 1946 Edition" on the cover before purchasing. This is the only accurate reprint of the text as it was originally written.

Review: Superior facsimile, very well done. - This is a comparison of the facsimile of The Original 1946 Edition of The Little Red Book published by Full Length History Press with my original copy. There are three differences which are kind of nit-picky. 1. The facsimile is soft cover, not hard cover. 2. The Big Book pages referenced in the facsimile are from the more recent Big Books, not from the First Printing. 3. The facsimile has two blank sheets at the end while the original has only one. That’s a real nit pick, and I would rather have a hard cover book, but they really have done an excellent job and the price is only $13-$15 on eBay. I have forgotten what I paid thirty years or so ago. The rarest and most difficult LRBs to procure when I was collecting were the original that we are discussing here and the printing that has two upside-down lines of text. I have no idea what these cost now. One nice thing the publishers did was to replicate an inscription by Dr. Bob on the first page with any printing. I haven’t counted that as a difference, just a nice touch. In the original the PO Box number on the title page is scratched out and “564” handwritten in, and this is duplicated in the facsimile. Also, on the copyright page “INTERNATIONAL” and “BY COLL-WEBB CO.” is rubber stamped on the correct places in the facsimile, both nice touches. The font of the facsimile is ever so slightly larger than the original, but the sentence breaks are exactly the same. The page contents of the facsimile are exactly the same as the original, with the exception noted above. The page numbers, which are written out in capital letters, are lined up with the left or right margins as appropriate. In short, the publishers did a superior job in producing this facsimile and it would make a nice addition to your Little Red Book collection.
Review: Love it - I’m in recovery and love this book on the steps

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Addition to the Blue Book
*by D***T on January 13, 2024*

This book is very straight forward in what each step is & how to go about completing them. I love how simple it makes the steps. I highly recommend it to anyone who is starting on a 12 step program whether it's AA, NA or any of the other programs. It will definitely help you to get a better understanding of each of the 12 steps. Best of Luck in Your Journey!
