## Description

Product Description The McKinley is a "heavy-duty" oversized hooded rectangle adult sleeping bag using a 2-layer offset construction to eliminate cold spots. The McKinley 0 degree sleeping bag uses Techloft Insulation, which consists of multi-hole staple-length micro-denier fibers that have a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft, and compactness. It will keep you toasty on those cold weather nights when you'd prefer to have more "wiggle room" than you get with your mummy bag. The contoured hood also helps keep you warmer and keeps your warmth sealed in. For transporting, we include a compression stuff sack and roll-up straps. This is a great hunting bag for those frigid nights when you want a good night's sleep. desertcart.com Stay warm on chilly mountain evenings with the heavy-duty McKinley rectangular sleeping bag from Browning. The oversized, hooded McKinley bag is filled with Techloft insulation, a series of multi-hole, staple-length micro-denier fibers with a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft, and compactness. Add in a two-layer offset construction to eliminate cold spots and you have a bag that keeps you toasty on chilly nights without restricting your movement like a mummy bag. The McKinley's contoured hood and insulated chest and zipper baffle also keep you warmer when the mercury dips by sealing in the warmth as you sleep. Construction-wise, the bag features a 210T nylon diamond ripstop exterior and a comfortable microfiber liner, so you can stretch out in comfort. And it's easy to carrying the McKinley thanks to the compression stuff sack and roll-up straps. A great hunting bag for frigid nights, the bag measures 36 by 90 inches and weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces.

Review: Browning McKinley 0 degree sleeping bag. Love it! - Arrived on time and in good shape. I am 6' 0" 215 Plenty of room in the bag from the shoulders down to the feet to move around. Seems to taper at the top above the shoulders to reduce the opening at the head. Heavy zipper that has yet to snag opening and closing. Nice fabric inside and out. Flap around the shoulders and along the length of the zipper to help stop cold air flow into the bag. I use a smaller travel pillow to fit iside the hood in colder weather when I decide to use the hood snug around my head. Not suitable for backpacking or small tents due to size and weight. Great bag if you have the space. Some have mentioned that the carry bag is too small. You would have a problem if you try to roll it tight like from the factory but if you stuff the bag in the stuff sack, you have no problem. Fold in half lengthwise and start stuffing it in working your way around. No problem. Save yourself the aggrevation and only use the straps on the bag if you are going to roll it for storage and not try to put it in the bag. I wiil revise review after I use it on some colder nights. Love this bag. So far the coldest I used the bag was the low teens. Very warm all night long. Did not require using the blanket I used to use on top. My last trip I let my girlfriend use my bag and I used my old bag with the blanket and I froze my you know what off while she snoozed comfortably all night. I have another bag on order for her!!!!! Update: I RECOMMEND you follow directions on cleaning that come with the bag but I will tell you what I did that worked well for me. Bag needed to be washed. Dirty and beginning to smell after lots of use. DO NOT try to wash in your HOME washer. Way to heavy when full of water. First, I filled bathtub with warm water and added powdered borax. Swished around until dissolved. Placed bag in borax solution for several hours to soak. I climbed in and stomped on it a few times as if I were crushing grapes for wine. Ha. That helped distribute borax throughout the bag to do its business. Rinsed twice stomping out the water each time. Can’t lift until you remove most of the water. Did not feel like I was able to remove enough water to dry properly so I took it to COMMERCIAL laundry to run it through a delicate rinse cycle and spin dry in a large washer. Dried in a large dryer on low heat. Left in the Sun for a couple of hours to finish it up. Did not require fluffing to redistribute insulation. Smells fresh and looks like new. Worth the effort considering a new bag is now $150.
Review: because I also have Pharaohphobia (I'll be happy to explain and justify my fears regarding this issue ... - 11/16/2014 UPDATE: I have to say...I am VERY pleased with my purchase. On Friday night of our campout, temperatures reached 32 degrees. Again, we were in a cabin, but there was no heat. I am happy to report that I was warm and toasty and no hot flashes to write home about!!! On the 2nd night, it was a wee bit warmer, 43 degrees and I did get downright hot... I unzipped the bag about halfway down and that allowed enough of nature's air conditioning in... What little I slept, it was that way the entire night. The sleeping bag met all three of my conditions and performed extremely well. 1. I was warm. 2. My Pharaohphopia was kept at bay; there was room to turn. I am not an obese person either...more of an desertcart... badabang LOL 3. The microfiber lining did not grab at my PJs and impede me from turning... It wasn't as "slick" as I like a sleeping bag to be, but it was acceptable. The issue I had with sleeping had to do with my back killing me - had nothing to do with the sleeping bag... Now I'm thinking of getting one of those Skeletor looking air blowup mattress looking thingies that you put directly in the bag with you... On a side note...There is no way that I can fit this bag back into the stuff sack it came with...so I've ordered a new stuff sack/compression bag that I'm hoping this behemoth will fit into! If you are a hiker...this is not the sleeping bag for you... If you are like me - a casual camper who likes her creature comforts and who SUV's her stuff to the spot, then this IS the bag for you!!!! Happy Camping!!!! ********** ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW *********** Just got this sleeping bag, haven't slept in it yet, but will be doing so this weekend, for a Girl Scout Leader Camp-out. I will update this review once I've tried it out. We are sleeping in cabins, but they are unheated on bunks. In addition, I haven't gotten to this point in my life, just to be uncomfortable...LOL! These are MY specific reasons for getting this bag (and my updated ratings will be on these and any other negatives/positives that I encounter): 1. Degree Rating: I almost purchased another bag, but then I read the reviews and folks indicated that they were cold in that bag even though the air temperatures were within the bag's temperature rating. Honestly... I have a small degree of comfort on the temperature scale -- anything outside of that makes me an evil person, add sleep deprivation to that -- well, the gig is over! I figure that once the Hot Flashes start to kick-in, I'll just unzip the darn thing for the 1/2 hour or so that the Maws of Hell have opened to try to consume me. The other ladies in the cabin will appreciate the heat that's generated. Of course, after the episode, I'll need this 0-Degree sleeping bag to hopefully contain some of that heat to prevent some of that sweat freezing me into a human icicle. 2. Size and dimensions: Being somewhat claustrophobic is an issue when searching for a sleeping bag! Just the name, "Mummy Bags" turns me off, because I also have Pharaohphobia (I'll be happy to explain and justify my fears regarding this issue on the Johnson & Johnson rolled Bandage Purchase I made last week). Anyway, I need room to turn and move my legs...I think this bag will do the trick! Also, I'll add, when you start getting warm (see number 1 above) just a simple readjustment of a limb will quickly serve to reduce the internal thermometer. 3. Microfiber Liner: The internal layer is made of a Microfiber Liner...I was wary at first... As a princess, I cannot have a sleeping bag that has Lumberjack Flannel as the liner. Several reasons for that: a) Hint: Sandpaper; b) Panties get in a wad - literally! Flannel doesn't permit other material to smoothly glide across when you move (See number 2 above); and c) Flannel is hot! (See numbers 1 & 2 above). I have felt the internal layer and it seem sufficiently slick and cool to touch! As I mentioned above, I will revise my review after sleeping in the bag this coming weekend. This product was ordered via desertcart Prime at a cost of $99.99 Sale Price (Down from $139.99). Delivery was set at 2 Days; Received 1 Day early - These are the reasons for my initial 4 Star Review.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, heavy bag.
*by R***D on August 8, 2019*

Very comfy, spacious, and warm. Zippers work great! Internal pull cords are easy to use. The extra thick, internal neck-draft tube is wonderful! The only consideration is it's very heavy and quite bulky in the stuff sack. Thus, I wouldn't ever consider it for backpacking. It is, however, perfect for base camp or car camping use.
