## Description

Product description FAQ'S WHICH PRODUCT IS RECOMMENDED TO PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN A COAT OF 845? Collinite No. 520 Mister Collins Auto Detailer gently cleans the surface while enhancing the existing wax finish . It is also infused or “insulated” with Collinite Wax protection in order to bond effectively to the wax coat. Collinite 845 can also be layered over itself if additional protection and shine are desired. CAN 845 INSULATOR WAX BE APPLIED OVER EXISTING CERAMIC COATINGS AND PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF)? Ceramic Coatings : Many professional detailers are successfully using 845 Insulator Wax as a topper for ceramic coatings. Check with the coating manufacturer whether a carnauba-polymer wax is suitable over the coating. Paint Protection Film (PPF) : 845 Insulator Wax was tested successfully by the tech department at XPEL PPF . CAN 845 BE USED EFFECTIVELY IN ITS THINNER LIQUID FORM AND ITS THICKER GEL FORM? 845 will take on a thicker gel consistency in colder temperatures and a thinner liquid consistency in warmer temperatures. The different viscosities do not alter the performance. It can be used in either form. CAN 845 BE USED BY HAND AND WITH A DA POLISHER? Yes. Collinite 845 Insulator Wax is Collinite’s most “machine friendly” automotive wax. A finishing pad and low speed are optimal in order to obtain professional results . By hand, a thin layer is recommended to one section at a time. With DA and by hand, microfiber towels are recommended for removal. For one midsized vehicle, 2-3 towels are suggested. CAN 845 INSULATOR WAX BE LAYERED? Yes. Wait a minimum of 12 hours between coats to allow the product to fully cure.

Review: Best car wax i've used - Read a lot of stories online prior to trying it out. Seems to be the most highly recommended by the professionals and the ones that take detailing seriously. No frills, packaging is super low key, no marketing and scent is pretty bad. Smells like old school roach spray. But honestly I don't care. I do enjoy other products like Turtle wax ice and Adams because of how great their scents are, along with their performance but when I'm working with something i consider to be a serious task and that i want to produce results, smell doesnt even register to me in terms of considerations. Because most of the people that review this product tend to be pros or serious detailers I feel they over complicate the stories. Instructions are straight forward and not overly complex. If you follow them to a T, then this product is insanely easy to apply and scrub off. Don't need any special skill or expertise to get the most out of it. As with most paint protection, I do believe preparation is key. I didn't do a full decontamination (skipped clay bar) as my car is just over a year old, is garaged and since i work from home isn't too exposed to the elements. Did a full wash, then dry with waffle weave microfiber (doesn't have to be perfectly dry as you'll wet again) followed by an iron remover. (don't have a preference, they all seem to get the job done) Rubbed it into the paint and sprayed off within a couple of minutes (can't let it dry on paint) and repeated my drying with same products. Brought car inside sprayed with an IPA (i happen to like CarPro) and wiped down with a microfiber towel. Heated the Collinite 845 in hot water for about 10 mins, shook really well and got to work using the 2 microfiber applicator pads and 2 Car guys microfiber towels. Dabbed 4 dots on the pad and folded over to get full coverage on the pad, only dabbed 2 dots when reapplying thereafter. You don't need a lot of product, the thinner the better (from everything I'd read) I would apply 2 panels at a time then I'd come back and buff off with the short side of the MF towel. I would apply 2 more panels and I'd come back and buff the section I'd just finished with long side of the MF towel. (Not necessary but wanted to be a bit extra thorough to ensure I got all the residue out. Let cure overnight and applied a second coat the next morning. Impressions: Insanely easy to apply and remove. Experienced no issues whatsoever even on applications where I mistakenly used more product than I'd wanted. The touch is the best I've ever experienced. Full disclosure, I am not a serious detailer. Use to wax my old Eclipse back in the early 2000's when I was in the Marines and those waxes were hard to work with. Tough to buff out and tended to leave white residue along creases and trim. This did not. Last 10 years, I have paid others to wax so never really knew what product they used but nothing felt anywhere remotely as good as this. Given its applications this product is renown for its durability so have good expectations yet can't review that aspect yet. I'll try to remind myself to come back and update this review in 6 months when I'm ready to remove and apply again. I'll also add a picture once its sunny. Live in Miami and has been raining non stop. That is also important context in terms of future durability. Lots of rain and humidity. Plan on maintaining with Adams spray wax during regular washes. Given the usage and conditions around my car, I only wash once a month. (less than 5,000 miles a year pre-Covid) I was a bit anxious applying a product that only pros seem to use, but the experience blew me away in terms of its ease and the results left me feeling pretty accomplished. Sorry for the long review but I wanted to pay it forward to all those whose reviews helped me choose this product. Next application will try wit Jescar Power Lock +
Review: Hidden Gem - This product has been a staple among auto and detail enthusiasts for years. It has survived only by its reputation for high gloss, slickness and durability through word of mouth. Despite newer waxes, sealants and coatings coming to market with a massive media blitz Collinite 845 continues to benefit from a cult like following without all the smoke and mirrors. Look at the bottle and you will not be dazzled by graphic designs. Smell the product and you won't experience the scent of rare tropical fruits. In fact, the lettering on the bottle is a single color (red) and the wax smells like solvent from a chemical factory. What really matters is how it performs. It means business and in the end your will be rewarded with gloss, slickness and richness. This product has been a dependable winter wax for enthusiasts in the Northeast to get through the harsh winter months. The company is headquartered in New York State so they know a thing or two about winter. Expect durability of 4-6 months. For the best results, make sure the paint is prepped properly with a wash, decontamination, clay bar and if need be polish. The better the paint is prepped, the better the end result. This is true for all forms of wax, sealants and coating. When you first receive 845 the wax will be separated from the solvent. You will need to place the bottle in warm water to melt the wax. Once the wax has melted, vigorously shake the bottle to mix the wax into the solvent. It is now ready to use. Spray a microfiber applicator pad with one spritz of quick detailer spray to prime the applicator. Now, dab the applicator twice by placing the applicator over the bottle opening and tipping the bottle upside down. DO NOT POUR the product onto the pad, that is way too much. Fold the microfiber pad to work the product into the pad. Now work the product into the panel either a circular fashion or in cross hatches. You should only see a very thin oily film being applied ( really thin) and there should be enough product on the applicator to cover the entire panel. Go to another panel and follow the same steps. Once you're finished with the second panel, you can return to the first panel and buff. I spray the microfiber towel with one spritz of quick detailer to help knock down the high spots. If you wait too long before buffing, the wax becomes harder to buff to a gloss leading to high spots. One bottle will last a lifetime since very little product is actually used to wax a car. Wait 12-24 hours if you desire to apply a second coat to allow the wax to cure. WARNING: you may experience a loss of gloss, haziness or streaking about a week after application. Neophytes to 845 will believe they received a bad batch of wax and throw the bottle away. This is due to the solvents "sweating" out of the wax on a hot panel. It is usually due to a heavy application (hence my obsessive detail into the amount applied to the applicator) and high spots not properly buffed out. Avoid the temptation to dry buff as this will mar the paint. Washing the car with restore the luster and wash away any additional solvents and non bonded wax. Collinite 845 plays well with sealants as a topper (wax applied over top of a cured sealant). Sealants tend to be more durable than waxes and adding 845 on top of a sealant will increase the sealant's durability. Sealants also give a plastic-like gloss and 845 will add a richness to the paint lacking with the sealant. Collinite has been historically paired with Jescar Powerlock Plus and Wolfgangs Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. All in all, Collinite 845 punches way above its weight class. Its performance matches boutique concours waxes without the price and its durability approaches that of a sealant. If you can work through its quirkiness, you will be rewarded with a gloss difficult to replicate with any other product.
