Easy Modification is Worth it. Here's What I Did to Make It Work... *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on December 8, 2012* I use this for my Fenix TK50 and other 2-4x D cell flashlights. This HWC-Hamburger Woolen Company Inc flashlight holder does hold it fine,.... but only after some serious modification.The thing is,...the holster material is so STIFF and rough that it will literally wipe the finish off your light with a reasonable in/out use sliding in/out of the holster. If you're just going to park your light in the holster or occasionally slide it out, you will be fine.But if your sliding your flashlight in/out of this holster on a regular basis,...and if you care about keeping a nice finish on your light, then some alteration have to be done. Problem is, this holster has NO velcro adjustments which would take care of all issues. This is billed as a "Universal" holster but has no 'universal' adjustments.So to protect my mag, fenix & other lights I use,....the scraping comes when the head settles or tries to settle on the top rim of the loop,..but really can not seat well since the back of the loop is straight & very firm and does not conform to the circle of the flashlight. This creates a pinch that forces the head against the flat side & misaligns the tube thru the loop, causing excessive pressure scraping the finish on the tube with every in/out. It will take a little time for this to become apparent on your light but once it does,...it's too late. Again, if you don't care about the finish on your light then this is a 5-star.To Fix this holster I literally used a sledge hammer to pound /soften the stiff nylon material to make it softer and more pliable. Then reshaped the flat, stiff vertical strap into a gentle curve so that is now curves around the shaft & head of the light...where as before alterations it was flat on one side & did not curve around the head of the flashlight tube /head at all.With that modification, the head now nestles very, very nicely straight & true, and the pull is quick & free with no snatch or drag on the flashlight shaft. This eliminates scripting the paint on the flashlight. I can use it on other belts.EDIT: I have finally gotten the flashlight loop onto a standard U.S. pistol belt.One must field strip one end of the belt, remove the fastex buckle, then place the loop on the belt,and finally reassemble the belt.The loop passes over everything but the buckle, so if you happen to have aU.S. pistol or equipment belt which predates the fastex buckle, you are good to go. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Very thick and sturdy holster, overpriced for this quality. Maybe it's not that bad for some people, but in my mind it definitely could be softer to prevent flashlights from being scratched. I think the original material was very soft, but after sewing it, it soaked some liquid, that after drying created all these issues. I'm curious if I wash it, would it become softer and the hardener will be gone, at least partially. I got nothing to lose to test it out, but it seems it won't work. I also guess it is kind of little overpriced since there are just 3 stitches tota; and, having the right sewing machine, it can be created in a matter of seconds if you have the right materials and experience.
