I would think all the 5 gal are similar **Q: How tall is the dispensing area? Can you fill a thermo flask type bottle** A: The clearance under the dispenser nozzle is a little over 9.5 inches. You could probably get a bottle 10-10.5" in height under it if you slide it in at an angle so that the top goes around the nozzle. Anything taller than that, and you will need to hold the bottle at an angle while filling. My small Coleman Autoseal fits easily under the nozzle, but my large one I need to hold at an angle. **Q: Can it take a smaller jug than 5 gallons.. We use the alive water, 2.5 gallon jug.** A: The connection for the top of the water bottle fits a 5 gallon standard bottle, if your bottle top is the same it should work **Q: How does self cleaning work? Do you just hit a button and it does it? Does it work good or you still have to manually clean?** A: There is a switch on the rear of the machine, it's really more of a button than switch since you press and hold it though. You hold it for five seconds, and the self-cleaning function starts. This lasts for 90 minutes. While it's cleaning, it pumps ozone through the machine, and the power light blinks. The cooler was given to me so I don't know how old it is. So I started researching to see what cooler to get. This cooler came up with a high review and I really liked the options on this. When I first hooked it up, it was noisy, but it didn't bother me. It wasn't loud, but you can hear it. I really liked it and didn't have any problems. The only thing I didn't like was I couldn't tell when the water was getting low without opening the bottom to see the water jug. My previous cooler had the water on top. However, it is much easier having the water jug at the bottom and don't have to worry about hurting my back flipping it over on the top. The room temperature disbursed cold water, not room temperature, but that didn't bother me either. After a few days, I used the hot water. Be very careful because it comes out scorching hot. But then the hot water started dripping from the hot water spout. Ugh. I bought a new cooler cause my last cooler was dripping from the spout. I tried tightening and playing around with the button to try and stop the drip. Nothing worked. I called the company but they couldn't help me because I hadn't had the item for 30 days. What?! They wanted me to return it to Amazon. Amazon was really helpful and replaced the item. I just received the second unit. When I went to plug it in, I noticed there is a huge dent in the side of it. Really! The box and shipping box were completely fine so you know it got damaged at the warehouse but they still box it up and ship it. ??? I just want a cooler that's going to work! Because I like the options on this unit, I'm trying for a third time.
