The scrub pad works well and the scraper blade, which is really why I bought this, works surprisingly well at scraping algae, etc, off the glass.With either the pad or the blade, I do have to go over an area a few times, but this is no different from other magnet scrubbers or from long-handled scraper tools that I've used in the past.I'm buying this again for another tank.
