Review: Very good quality book - I've been doing calligraphy of all types like copperplate, black letter, medieval scripts and improving my handwriting skills with spencerian. So I wanted to try something new and fresh with Japanese symbols and maybe learn a little about the language and how to write/draw the symbols. This book teaches you how to write the symbol and say the symbol, it has flash cards you can pull out for further learning and it teaches Hiragana and Katagana dialects. A must buy if you are interested in learning Japanese and writing the symbols.

I've been doing calligraphy of all types like copperplate, black letter, medieval scripts and improving my handwriting skills with spencerian. So I wanted to try something new and fresh with Japanese symbols and maybe learn a little about the language and how to write/draw the symbols. This book teaches you how to write the symbol and say the symbol, it has flash cards you can pull out for further learning and it teaches Hiragana and Katagana dialects. A must buy if you are interested in learning Japanese and writing the symbols.
