Once you have that as the center of the network you can add 1st gen and 2nd gen points (together if you want) to the nest router since it is backwards compatible. I did this when upgrading my Google WiFi to Nest. Using the Google home app, you'll need to delete the current network and recreate it on the Nest router. Use the same name and password as the old network to make this easier for clients to connect. Easy to add and works great. ### ⭐ Doesn't work in the United States--was made for another country. *by L***A on April 25, 2025* ZERO stars--this unit purchased IS NOT FOR THE US. I used the normal practice of adding a device into our pre-existing google mesh system (made up of the US versions working great) and IMMEDIATELY in the process it gave me the error message. See attached photo. I called Google and spent over an hour with them trying to determine if it could work and they said it create instabilities in the pre-existing systems. TO BE CLEAR the US versions are pretty good.
