A: I have the Dyson Cannister Vac and it fits perfectly.

**Q: Will the work on a thick area rug?**
A: yes

**Q: I have a DC21 with no power coming through the hose and the switch in the powerhead is bad. Would this mate properly with that hose and work?**
A: I believe will mate well but does air come if you take the powerhead

It broke after one month and will not turn the brush. Very disappointed as I was the with the floor brush that came with the Dyson. The vacuum works well as long as you do not use the carpet brush.
