A: Yes.  It works in a 2011 X3 a 2018 X5 and a 2021 X3.

A: The space needed is only wide enough for a half inch width slide between the fins of vent to latch on. The device tightens so it does not vibrate. It is as durable as plastic can be but there is not much that disturbs it once attached. I thought great buy!

Nice and simple cellphone holder. It’s easy to assemble. Fits perfectly in the air vent of our car (Mitsubishi Outlander). Haven’t tried to mount it in the dashboard, though. It’s light but very sturdy as well, my phone (iphone 14 pro max) fits perfectly.
