The package includes four marine-grade screws designed for careful hand-tool installation to prevent damage and rust marks, making it a reliable, long-lasting upgrade for your vessel. ## Description SW1047 is a direct replacement scupper for most boats that currently have the standard round plastic frame scupper with a rubber flapper. It has a 1.625” thru hole which is larger than the common plastic frame version which has a 1.375” thru hole. This means ours will fit over standard flared brass drain tubes (usually a 1.5” flare). The 1.625” thru hole and free swinging door also allows for quicker deck drainage. Notes: Transom mount only. Please see our recessed scupper for port or starboard mounting applications. Scuppers must be mounted above the waterline or paired with a drainage system that is above the waterline. Marine grade sealant (not included) may be required to seal the screw holes and backplate to the boat. ## Features - SW1047 is intended for boats with nearly vertical transoms. Please utilize SW1143 if your transom has an angle over 6 degrees. SW1143 incorporates a wedge component so the scupper will rest in the closed position. - The supplied screws are marine grade 316 stainless steel with excellent rust resistance. Stainless steel screws however may shear or break easier than non-marine srews. We highly recommend using hand tools for installation and drilling a pilot hole if needed for the screw holes. excessive force will also deposit iron from the hand tool which could result in superficial rust marks. - Improved sealing compared to rubber flapper. - Improved appearance and durability compared to plastic fame and rubber flapper version - Please make sure the screw hole orientation is compatible with your application. Had 2 from each batch break on me and had to go to the hardware store and buy all new screws to replace the broken ones. Also no retaining pin on the actual scupper that keeps it from falling out so it’s a 2 person job to install.
