That is what my box says Also, there is no mention of it removing bacteria or giardia, which would be crucial in filtering non-potable water. Here is a direct quote from the Berkey water filter site. You will not see anything about these things on the FilterLogic info: Our Berkey water filter systems can be classified as a water purifier because our elements actually remove 99.9999999% of pathogenic bacteria (9-log reduction) and 99.999% of viruses which greatly exceeds the standards. **Q: Is it normal for the water to taste like charcoal for a while? I did my diy water filter project with them, they fit perfect! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by D***. on 3 April 2024* Thought I'd post my filter system that works perfectly to filter rainwater I collect in a 50-gallon rainbarrel. You see it has 6-Filters in a bucket which sits on a plant stand/ring, with piping and hose to fill 5-gallon jugs. It takes about 20 minutes for each 5-gallon jug to fill. (You might notice the green waterpump in the photo.....
