It has good holding strength. It would be enough to hold up the curtain but if you tug on it it might eventually have to be done again. I would take the holder and put enough on the ring the holder goes ins' back so that when the ring is pressed in place that a bead approximately 1/8 inch is forced out around the ring then tape in place and leave for a minimum of 24-48 hours before any pressure is placed on ring. This should hold for a good while. Also what will work just about as well is if you have a hot glue gun with clear glue to do the same thing except the glue you don't have to wait for more than an hour. then if after a while the ring falls off don't remove the old glue just put another coat on and repeat. If either method fails try roughing up the tile surface where the ring mounts to knock the shine off and try again. The Hot Glue or adhesive will bond better to a dull surface over a shinny surface. The glue gun if you choose that method has to be a Hot Glue gun not a little craft glue gun. Either method may eventually fail but will last longer if you can find a little piece of foam or something to place at the end of the rod so that minimal pressure is being pushed against the tile both horizontal to compensate and reduce the vertical tension. This will make either bond last almost indefinitely. When these bonds fail they are usually because of a jerking like grabbing the curtain or a combination of vertical with horizontal sheer so if you can reduce the vertical by placing a little horizontal pressure the bond lasts longer. **Q: what is color?** A: Tanneous white. Does not look good exposed. **Q: Does this require a caulking gun?** A: If you buy the cartridge as shown in the image, then yes it does require a caulking gun. It may be sold in a plastic tube that you can squeeze out for small jobs, but if you are going to do caulking then you need to have a caulking gun.
