I placed them outside the perimeter of the shelter and inside the doorways as well. They soaked up a very impressive amount as I did not think the 5 of them were actually going to handle the amount of water we usually get so I was pleasantly surprised. The horses did eventually end up busting a couple of them open by stepping on them but that is completely understandable and I do not fault the product at all. The bags were there for two full months without that happening. I would buy these again! Review: Worked great for my temporary water problem in my basement. I’m drying out so can be used again if needed.
