Want to** A: i would never encourage you to use a plug as a receptacle and what we call in show business a “suicide adapter”. Search for the “receptacle” version of this wiring device, not the “plug” version. If you used this in the manner you suggest, you would be creating “hot pins” which even though you feel sure you would never remove the receptacle-to-receptacle adapter you’d make, someday for some unforeseen reason it would be out of there and the parallel blades would be carrying voltage for anyone and anything to have a very surprising and dangerous interaction with. “Plugs” aka “males” have “Pins”, and they never are part of an electrical system in a way that they can “be hot” and therefore easily touched to created shocks or sparks or worse. “Receptacles” aka “females” do not expose metal voltage carrying surfaces - they are encased behind plastic that’s certified not to melt up to certain voltages flowing nearby, and are safe to be the part that’s “hot”, and awaiting insertion of a “plug” to electrify a device. Don’t use electricity wrong. ever. it’s not your friend. it doesn’t even like you even though it doesn’t know you. This creates two issues. 1) kind of a pain to cut out and 2) alignment with screws to secure to plate come close to the next “knock out”.A “blank cover, drilled out to size would be my preference. Also using the hosing cover in addition to the included cover may not be suitableI’m mounting this to a shed to have temp power feed as needed.Will update laterBut overall - great quality for the price and would secure well to RVs and other uses. After the second time that the plug pulled out of the receptacle I replaced all of the #4 bolts with longer #6's. It is much sturdier and now functions just fine. I paired it with a Taymac MX3200 One Gang Vertical cover. I initially installed it May 2017 and except for the bolts it has held up well with intermittent use and I'm a half mile from the ocean on Oahu's windward coast where nothing weathers well.I'm including eight images with my review that show the wiring installations steps: back & front views of receptacle w/out plug; 1 views of weatherproof receptacle with plug wired, 2 side views showing the attachment of the plug with #6 bolts, washers & lock-nuts; front view of installed plug in box and views of medium & heavy duty extension cords with weatherproof cover opened and closed. I had to drill out the bolt holes keeping them tight enough to self thread a bit.
