The music tunes are soothing, appropriate for a baby. It plays for half an hour as advertised and runs on battery. doesn't need to be constantly rewound to play. Review: Soooo nice! - I initially bought a wind up music box thinking that would be sufficient but that didn't last long. I have a 3 month old that has recently discovered her mobile (and music box) and wants to be under it for 15-20 minutes at a time. With the wind up music boxes, that only gives you about 30-90 seconds of music before it stops on its own, and it's most often the same song. She would get upset when it turned off, I couldn't leave the room... it wasn't working for us. In comes the need for this one! I have been so happy with this one. It's fairly light weight, easy to use, and when you push the 'on' button - it runs for a full 30 minutes before automatically shutting off. It also has a number of different songs included so I'm not having to listen to the same lullaby over...and over and over again like I was with the wind up music box. It also has different modes (although we always use the music + spinning mode), and gives you control over the volume of the music. I would definitely recommend this either for yourself or as a gift!
