With its 15.3-inch length and SMA-Female connector, this antenna is purpose-built for 462MHz, offering enhanced performance in both urban and rural settings. Here’s why this antenna has exceeded my expectations for GMRS applications. Impressive Range Improvement Switching to the NA-771G immediately extended my radio’s range, allowing me to communicate over longer distances with clearer reception. This is especially valuable in areas with obstacles, like dense trees or urban structures, where standard antennas often fall short. The extra length and optimized tuning make a noticeable difference in signal strength, enabling reliable communication even when separated by significant distances or challenging terrain. Tuned Specifically for GMRS (462MHz) Unlike general-purpose antennas, the NA-771G is tuned specifically for GMRS frequencies, around 462MHz, which ensures efficient and focused performance on this band. This optimized tuning means I get the best possible clarity and range without interference, which is essential for staying connected on outdoor adventures, emergency communications, or even community events where GMRS is widely used. Durable and Flexible Whip Design At 15.3 inches, this antenna strikes an excellent balance between durability and flexibility. The whip design is sturdy enough to withstand regular use, while the flexible construction prevents it from snapping or bending out of shape when it comes into contact with objects. I’ve found it convenient to carry and use on portable radios, knowing it can handle a bit of wear and tear without compromising on performance. SMA-Female Connector Compatibility This antenna comes with an SMA-Female connector, making it compatible with many popular GMRS handheld radios. The fit is secure and straightforward to attach, providing a snug connection that won’t loosen or detach easily during use. I’ve paired it with a few different models, and it integrates seamlessly each time, allowing quick installation and dependable use. Lightweight and Portable Despite its length, the NA-771G is lightweight, making it comfortable to use on handheld radios without adding significant bulk. It’s perfect for carrying on hikes, in vehicles, or while exploring, and doesn’t interfere with the radio’s portability. This makes it ideal for fieldwork and outdoor adventures where every ounce counts. Ideal for Various Applications The NA-771G is incredibly versatile, suitable for a variety of GMRS applications, including recreational use, emergency preparedness, and group communication in remote areas. It provides dependable, boosted performance without requiring a complex setup, making it a fantastic upgrade for anyone relying on GMRS for clear, extended-range communication. In summary, the Nagoya NA-771G 15.3-Inch Whip GMRS Antenna is a top-quality, purpose-built antenna that significantly enhances range and clarity for GMRS radios. With its durable design, specific tuning for 462MHz, and easy compatibility, this antenna is a valuable addition for both casual and serious users. Highly recommended for anyone looking to maximize their GMRS radio performance! Review: Big Upgrade Over Stock – Excellent GMRS Antenna! - I bought the Nagoya 771G to replace the stock antenna on my GMRS handhelds (Baofeng GM-15 Pro, Baofeng GMRS-9r, Tidradio TD-H3), and the difference was immediate and noticeable. ✅ Improved Range & Clarity: With the 771G, I’m getting significantly better range and signal quality—especially in rural and wooded areas. Transmit and receive are both clearer compared to the standard rubber duck antenna. ✅ Built Specifically for GMRS (462 MHz): This isn’t just a general-purpose antenna—it’s tuned specifically for the GMRS band, and it shows. Less static, more reach, and more reliable communication. If you are Rx'ing 2m/70cm bands, your miles may vary on the Rx quality, but it has been useable. ✅ Flexible and Durable: The antenna has a good balance between flexibility and sturdiness. It bends without feeling flimsy and holds up well to regular use outdoors and on the move. ✅ Plug and Play: Installation was super easy. Just unscrewed the old antenna and popped this one on. The SMA-F connector fit perfectly with my Baofeng radio. 📌 Things to know before you by: It is longer than the stock antennas (about 15.6 inches), so be aware if you're carrying it on your belt or in tight spaces. Make sure your radio uses an SMA-Female connector (this is the standard for most Baofeng GMRS radios). Final Thoughts: If you want to get the most out of your handheld GMRS radio, the Nagoya 771G is a must-have. It’s affordable, effective, and built specifically for GMRS use. Highly recommended! ## Features - CHECK CONNECTOR BEFORE ORDERING — This antenna is SMA-Female: it has a center socket and mates with a radio SMA-Male center pin. Thread appearance alone can be misleading; compare the center contact. - GMRS-SPECIFIC TUNING — Single-band antenna centered at 462 MHz and optimized for 462–468 MHz GMRS transmit use. It is not the NA-771 dual-band amateur model. - FIT LIMITS — For radios with a removable antenna and SMA-Male antenna jack. It is not compatible with SMA-Female radio jacks, reverse-SMA connectors, Motorola-style connectors, or fixed antennas. - 15.6-INCH FLEXIBLE WHIP — Soft, flexible construction for outdoor and field use; 15.6 inches long, up to 3 dBi, 1/2 wave, 50 ohms, and up to 10W input power. - VERIFY YOUR EXACT RADIO — Connector fit alone does not make this antenna compatible with every BTECH or BaoFeng radio. Confirm both the exact connector and GMRS frequency/service for your radio before ordering. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09KS96DWH | | Antenna | Radio | | AntennaDescription | Radio | | Best Sellers Rank | #3 in Two-Way Radio Antennas | | Brand | BTECH | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,170 Reviews | | Impedance | 50 ohm | | Item Weight | 1.4 ounces | | Manufacturer | BTECH | | Mfr Part Number | Nagoya NA-771G SMA-Female GMRS Antenna | | Model Number | Nagoya NA-771G SMA-Female GMRS Antenna | | Number of Channels | 1 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | UPC | 850004124321 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year | ## Product Details - **Antenna:** Radio - **Brand:** BTECH - **Color:** Black - **Impedance:** 50 ohm - **Manufacturer:** BTECH - **Number of Channels:** 1 - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Number of Packs:** 1 - **UPC:** 850004124321 - **Unit Count:** 1 Count ## Images ![NA-771G - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41GakcIFO7L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: I just recieved my antenna and the adaptor wire is separtated from the connector. It is often left off to make it easier to route the cab le. **Q: What screw-in end type is on the antenna?** A: The answer depends on the antenna you order. The base/mobile antenna has a PL-259 (plug) that mates to the SO-239 (socket) on the radio. The handheld antennas have either male SMA or female SMA connectors, depending on the selection you make when ordering. **Q: How does this compare to the 771 for best reception?** A: I’d say a bit better but not worth the extra size and having to extend and take it down, don’t transmit with it folded up bc it’s got a high swr miklor had it at like 7.1 **Q: Sma-male or BNC in the future?** A: Male ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High-Performance GMRS Antenna – Ideal for Boosting Range and Clarity! *by @***D on November 1, 2024* The Authentic Genuine Nagoya NA-771G 15.3-Inch Whip GMRS Antenna is a fantastic upgrade for anyone looking to improve the range and clarity of their GMRS radio communications. It's well worth the money because they give you better reception, etc.. I was able to hit a repeater in Indianapolis from South of Greenwood which is about 15 miles or so just standing outside. I wasn't able to do so with the stubby that came with my radios. I could trip the repeater but no voice or garbled voice until I added this antenna. I can't say it was totally the antenna, but it for sure helped. ## Frequently Bought Together - Authentic Genuine Nagoya NA-771G 15.3-Inch Whip GMRS (462MHz) Antenna SMA-Female for BTECH and BaoFeng Radios - Authentic Genuine Nagoya NA-771 15.6-Inch Whip VHF/UHF (144/430Mhz) Antenna SMA-Female for BTECH and BaoFeng Radios - BTECH GMRS-V2 5W 200 Fully Customizable Channels GMRS Two-Way Radio.
