There is also the issue of making sure the shelves are supported by studs; if one attempts to make four shelves it will become abundantly clear that the studs are too far apart to support the weight of anything over 10 to 20lbs. **Q: Can these be used outdoors in the weather without rusting?** A: I don't believe so, the racks and supports are all powder coated steel and will rust eventually. **Q: I am moving and have loved the stands. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remove the screw holders.
