I was able to make three separate chalk boards for my kids with one can of paint, with a small amount left over. I got 4 boards out of one paint can, 3’x6’, a 2.5’x4.5’ and two 2’x1’, each section was given 3-4 coats of paint. It dries fast so you are able to paint a section quite large in a fairly short period of time. The smell was not over powering and did not linger after it dried down. Cleaning is quite easy as I just use a damp towel to wipe the chalk boards clean and ready for the next art work my kids would like to do for the day. We are using sidewalk chalk with great success.
