There are small lights on the ends of each switch and then there's a bigger Square light on the switch when you turn it on. I set it up so the key turns on the illumination. I had to cut it in half and use the USB and cigarette lighter units separately but that worked perfectly for the holes I had. Can't say much about current handling for durability because we've only had it installed for a short time. Definitely looks the part.
