This is probably a good thing though.I do sometimes have concerns that the string might snag on the leather as I'm releasing if I don't flick my thumb out fast enough, but it hasn't been a problem so far. The wrist cord and toggles are great for keeping the ring attached to you even if it gets pulled off your thumb while firing.The back of the ring/leather binding does dig into your knuckle on your thumb, so I wouldn't say it is totally "pain free". It doesn't really hurt, just uncomfortable.
