There is a slot cut into the side of the cylinder that is supposed to correspond to the correct number of coins for rolling and allow any surplus coins to be ejected from the cylinder. However, the slot is not in the correct location- at least not for Canadian coins (and this product was listed on Amazon Canada). Unless you don't mind putting 3-4 extra coins in each roll it's utterly useless. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Be Patient at First - this DOES work! *by J***K on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on 17 November 2019* After the first 5 minutes of trying to use this, my husband said, "looks like we just three $12 away". We decided to keep trying for a few more moments, when and all of a sudden, my husband said, OHHH THIS is how you do it!! From then on, these have made our coin wrapping job relatively easy and quick.We agree with other reviewers who describe the process this way.1- Fill the coin tube with the correct number of coins (the slot indicates the correct number2 - open the paper wrapper and slide it over the coins at the top the tube. This was initially very "tricky" for us initially, but here is what finally worked:- When pushing the wrapper over the top of the coins in the tube, be GENTLE. And at the same time you're pushing down, slightly twist the wrapper - one direction, then the other. - keep pushing AND twisting - VERY GENTLY and all of a sudden you'll feel the wrapper slip down, either a little or a lot. - keep twisting and pushing until it slides all of the way down to the end of the tube (or almost all the way)NOTE: sometimes it helps if you pull back on the wrapper JUST a little - then begin again to push and twist- with the wrapper at the end, hold your index finger on the top coin in the tube while you turn the tube upside down. (the bottom of the coin tube should now be facing up). While keeping your finger on the top coin in the tube (this is now facing down), push down on the coins at the bottom of the inside of the tube. At that point, all of the coins, and the wrapper, will slide out of the tube. (You may need to gently shake the tube to start the movement downward). - Keeping your fingers on each end of the coin filled wrapper, gently shake to eliminate any space - Fold-in the ends of the wrapper -- then end. (I hope my description doesn't makes the process sound daunting -- this process could not be easier once you 'get' the 'feel' of it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Once the Method is Pefected, Turn Your Coins in as Suggested *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on 2 March 2023* This cheap kit helped me wrap up 20 years of change (over $800) while watching a few movies.When I first tried it, it seemed kinda clunky and for the first few rolls I thought I might be able to do it faster without these slotted plastic funnels. By the end of the pennies I was jamming. After sorting, my method is as follows:1. Fill coin funnel until overflow happens at less than a 20 degrees from upright/vertical.2. Set Funnel on it's bottom rest and grab paper wrap. Cohearse the wrap into a tubular shape as much as possible with a few of finger bang bangs from either side.3. Grab and hold funnel at about a 30 degree angle from upright with your left hand. Slip your index finger of your right hand into the wrap up to it's second knuckle.4. This is where finesse and patience are key. Slip the open end of the wrapper around the coin stack while making sure the entire circumference has slipped over the first few coins in the tubed stack.5. With the wrap now started, some force can be applied to slip the wrapper over the entire stack. The inserted index finger should allow you to distribute most of the pushing force all around the circumference of the wrapper's end, allowing you to keep it as wrinkle and crease-free as possible. Your index finger will have to retract a bit to allow for the stack to fill the wrapper, but do not remove your finger yet.6. If the wrapper jams along the way to the bottom of the funnel, a little shaking while still applying force combined with holding the funnel at a different angles will usually get the wrapper sliding again.7. If the the wrapper kinks or folds before getting halfway slid on, abort and prepare another wrapper.8. Once the wrapper is all or at least 80% over the stack, the inserted index finger may be used as a stopper and adjuster. Turn the funnel with the wrapped stack inside completely upside down, so that the coin stack falls onto the end of your index finger in the wrapper. While still upside down, slide the wrapped stack out of the funnel and quickly insert the index finger of your left hand into the newly exposed opening.9. With both index fingers in either end of the wrapped stack, center the stack in the wrapper.10. Fold the edge of the wrapper over the end of the stack with your thumb as you pull you remove each index finger. Finish folding the edges over tightly so that the roll is smooth and ready for storage/transport.11.
