Template helps line up the two parts so that they will pull together accurately. I used painters tape and marked it with a fine tip sharpie for the holes and the line for where the table leaves come together. Then I made sure the tape edge was the same distance from the outside edge of each piece. If I choose to use fewer leaves the hardware has to line up just the same. These are working great! When it's time to store the leaves, these are flat enough to wrap in a sheet to avoid scratching the exposed wood. ### ⭐ Poor quality *by C***S on Reviewed in Australia on 30 April 2024* Snapped off after one use.Could be a lemon, the other 3 are ok at this point.
