## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can anyone tell me if this will age brass ? Doing a project, an wondering if this will work..Thanks**
A: I just tested it and yes, to a point. But truth be told, you're better off putting your clean brass in a sealable plastic box/tote with a cup of ammonia in there. the ammonia will evaporate and the fumes will age the brass in a matter of hours. Keep an eye on it, it will go from bright brass to completely verdigris overnight. Good luck Ella

**Q: Is this flux okay to use when soldering a powerboard or circuit board for a television?**
A: I would not recommend it.

**Q: Is this flux good for use in tiffany method soft solder jewelry techniques with Silvergleem?**
A: Have used it for copper foil stained glass and it works well. I have never made jewelry but suppose it would work for that.

**Q: does it work with unleaded solder, which needs a higher temperature and doesn't flow smoothly?**
A: Fluxes do not contain metals, such as lead, so all fluxes are lead-free. Yes, you can use on lead-free solder.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective and a good sized bottle
*by H***R on March 2, 2026*

I apply this with a paintbrush due to it being thin enough. Its good quality and you get a good sized bottle. It doesnt stick to my paintbrush, so its easy to use. The liquid basically doesnt have any weight to it, so make sure you know where you've applied it because you will not see it like a gel flux. And definitely wear gloves.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great and easy to use!
*by A***D on August 14, 2018*

Seems to be a great flux for my stained glass projects. Allows an even solder line. A few recommendations (which I find to be true of all fluxes I've used): Don't use too much- you want to "paint" a wet line to the copper foil, no more (there shouldn't be any puddles!)- this will remove any risk of splattering. Use whatever type of brush you need to to achieve this. I like flux brushes, but there are others out there you might prefer if flux brush gives you too much flux. Be sure to use on all seams- although most solder includes flux in it, I find it's always best to paint another line of flux over it for a beaded solder line. Wash it off when you're done- this flux washes off very easily (better than pastes!!) and rinses away with just water. When the project is done, though, I recommend using a cleaner wax to fully remove the flux so it doesn't corrode the solder later leaving a dull finish.
