It will keep the rain and snow out. **Q: Can be use with the 480V 20 A plug?** A: This cover goes over a standard single gang elec. box, and raises to slightly over 90 degrees. So yes I'm pretty sure your plug will fit - but I seriously doubt the cover will close completely with anything plugged in. Out of the box this is set up for a GFCI but the included parts allow use with 16 different applications. Clear cover - so you can see the GFCI monitor light is on (or off....) This is NOT an in-use cover - so if you intend to plug something in and keep things somewhat weatherproof look for a different cover. But it will keep your horizontal or vertical outlet dry when not in use.
