To those worried about the foil vacuum sealing I talked directly with the company engineers. They told me the vacuum packed silver foil is simply packaging and has nothing to do with the shelf life. The ones they ship to the military dont even have the foil packaging and still have a 20 year shelf life. The shelf life of 20 years is for the canister and the 2 seals on the canister itself. If the two seals on the canister are intact the 20 year shelf life is intact. The following was their direct message to me "All the filters we supply to armies around the world are not supplied with the aluminum packaging. Some customers ask us for another case of this type.
