I have a strong church background in teaching, I have taken many Bible classes in high school, and do a lot of personal Bible study. I would say that a lot of the beginning concepts of Christ and who he is that were covered in the first chapters were a little basic for me. But as I got closer to the end of the book, I also found some aspects of doctrine that I really needed to spend time thinking over and discussing in a small group to really understand and grasp them well. I studied this book in a small group, and really think that helped me glean more rather than just reading through it myself. I would recommend this book to just about any Christian (though probably not those who have taken lots of Bible/theolgy course work, in that case you would probably not be challenged) as everyone should be familiar with these basic doctrines. It short, sweet, and not overly technical. I liked every chapter but the one on election. For that one I will be using Hershall Hobbs chapter from the Baptist Faith in Message on Election. To me it has a much more balanced approach on this subject.
