My dog didn't love having it poured into her ear, so I saturated a cotton ball and let it drip into her ear. I then massaged the ear well for about 20 seconds, carefully removed the cotton ball, let the dog shake anything left out, and dried what I could. My dog has large enough ears that I could do this. With a smaller breed, your best bet is still probably to try to use it as a rinse. It took about five days before I saw a significant reduction in the amount of discharge in the ear. It took the full treatment (about 2 weeks for us) before I was 100% sure we were back to normal. I had our yearly appointment a few days after we finished our last treatment, and just to be safe, I had the vet look at her ears to make sure. The vet said they both looked perfect. Overall, this rinse spared my dog an additional vet trip, cleaned her ears right up, and saved me another vet bill. This product simply works! If you want a product for shin irritations then get Bannix Horse and Pet Care at Orschelns. It is great and clears up the skin irritations fast. We have two Bichons that we use it on.
