Ablative paints generally loose effectiveness when exposed to air for more than a few days. A hard or semi-hard bottom paint is a better idea for boats that will be kept out of the water for periods of time. You can restore the efficacy of ablative paints that have been kept out of the water by lightly sanding them before relaunch, but who wants to do that! **Q: what is the coverage for one gallon? will it do a 24 foot deep hull searay sundancer? this should be in the description.** A: I used just under three gallons total to bottom coat (2 coats) a 36 foot LOA, 12.5 foot beam, 3.5 foot draft Marine Trader trawler.
