## Questions & Answers

**Q: Any idea how this compares to the SE2500, which is more popular? Other than looks.**
A: According to Linksys support: "...they have the same functionalities. Their difference is that the SE3005 is made of metal, while the SE2500 is made of hard plastic."

**Q: Looking at the picture, and at my current switch, I don't see a "uplink" port that would connect to the router.  Why is that?**
A: Most switches these days no longer have a dedicated "uplink" port but instead can use any of it's ports as an uplink port. http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=139602 According to the article "Newer models of Linksys switches (such as the SE1500, SE2500, and SE2800 models) do not have Uplink ports.  Instead, they have auto-sensing ports that are capable of detecting either straight-through or crossover cables." On my switches I use port 1.

**Q: does the all the ports works or just one at the time?**
A: Any port which has something attached works simultaneously without your having to switch anything...I have this and another Linksys model...I have been pleased.

**Q: Does it support international voltage range? (120v to 240v)**

This is a solid switch and fit into my home rack perfectly. I'm not a geek nor a computer wiz, I bought a house with a full rack system that has all my AV components for the entire house and I'm learning as I go or need. I had "slow" (less than what I was paying for) internet speeds with a gigabit modem and router. I noticed that the original switch was 10/100 and was the bottle neck. My speeds were 70MBPS before and 125MBPS after. This unit is plug and play and comes with everything you need to mount it in a typical rack. I had a 24 port switch, but was only using 14 so I op'd for the 16 port since I'm not planning to expand and figured two spare was sufficient. This also saved me about $50.
