Last thing I need is to have my dad get his foot stuck and fall backwards.** A: I completely understand after the last six months of surgeries and rehab with my dad. Thats actually one of the reason I got the big wide step so he could get into the truck if I ever needed to transport him somewhere like the Dr. It could be possible to get you foot stuck depending on the type of shoe and how you place your foot. I pretty much just drive it to work so I've always got steel toe work boots that will not fit in the space between the step and rail. I also keep my foot oriented parallel to the steep. If you wear loafers or some kind of sandal then I guess you could get it stuck. The gap is not really that big, but if your afraid of him getting his foot stuck then I'd go with a solid one piece one with a flat spot. My dad needs alot of help to move around so someone is always holding on to him when he moves.
