Review: The reviews are true - This is a great desk. It's very beautiful and just the right size for my corner office area. I read the reviews before my purchase. They were right about one thing... assembling this thing is a challenge! Put together plenty of stuff before, so I figured I could manage. I was wrong. The instructions suck. It was a frustrating process. (Maybe that's why I love the desk so much??) That being said, it's a great desk once it's put together. I also recommend a desk blotter or some type of barrier. It's real wood and marks/scratches will be an issue.

Make sure you have a screw driver with a long neck because you need to reach some screws on an angle. Its pretty annoying. A drill wont fit. get your forearms ready because there are like fifty screws you need to work directly into the wood. Once it all together, it looks great and for the price, I don't think I would have found anything better.

A: It was very hard, and took hours! Hairspray worked the best.

A: I believe the whole thing is pine except for the bottom of the drawer.

This is a great desk. It's very beautiful and just the right size for my corner office area. I read the reviews before my purchase. They were right about one thing... assembling this thing is a challenge! Put together plenty of stuff before, so I figured I could manage. I was wrong. The instructions suck. It was a frustrating process. (Maybe that's why I love the desk so much??) That being said, it's a great desk once it's put together. I also recommend a desk blotter or some type of barrier. It's real wood and marks/scratches will be an issue.

This desk was rated well on another website. But, the previous reviewer got it right. It takes HOURS and tons of PATIENCE to semi-build this desk. The sizing of the pieces is off. There is nothing you can do about it. There are places you cannot navigate a screwdriver to properly screw the pieces together. The desk top is not seated correctly and, therefore, this desk can never look well made. In fact, there is some evidence that the model in the picture suffers from the same issue at the front corners. It looks like a shadow but that is where the two front pieces are too big and won't allow the desk top to properly screwed in without gaps. The chair for this desk was wonderful and very well made. The desk is not. The bottom of the drawer, back of the drawer and back of the desk are very flimsy, super thin pieces of plastic-like board. These three pieces cheapen this desk as much as the mal-alignment of the manufactured pieces. If this desk weren't so heavy, I would return it. Now, I am putting it on Craigslist to get rid of it rather than sending it back at my expense. Just looking at it makes me disappointed.
