Review: Best stand I've used for school (portable) and home (permanent). I own 3 now! - I have had two of the 12.8" versions for a few years now and they still work great. I use them on the computer desk, at school, and at my writing desk. I just ordered the 11.5" version and it is even better for school because the smaller size fits better in my backpack, yet is just as sturdy as the others. Be sure you order this version that has the back piece that looks like a butterfly and has "NICE productions.com" on it, since I cannot vouch for any other version. I have used the bookstands that are metal wire and they are flimsy and can't hold the pages open. This model is 10 times better. PROS: sturdy, holds the pages, relatively light, adjustable, has lasted for a few years now and nothing has broken. it's portable / travel worthy. low cost. CONS: NONE! honestly, I have no complaints at all. although for perfection I'd say some improvements could be: lighter (imagine a thin metal plate instead), and possibly smaller for portability (10"?). CONCLUSION: great product, great price. buy it. buy two. buy one for each student in the house!
Review: I got this Aug 26th, 2017 and STILL love this thing! - I love this thing..but I am an idiot and didn't read the instructions until AFTER.. but, the screws are in place and I thought you had to loosen them with a screw driver before adjusting...which you Do Not have to and are NOT supposed to. So, needless to say..when I turned the screw to loosen and re-tighten, it stripped the screw a bit, and one of the screws is now a little bit loose and it won't completely tighten all the way..however..it still works perfectly, and I still highly recommend this! Also, like everything I purchase..I do a ton of research, read reviews, and compare soo many different models of whatever I am interested in purchasing. (Cautiously, of course..because as most of us know, companies hire people to hype up their products on desertcart which sucks and majority of us, the good honest consumer) Let's just say that I feel like I looked at a Million different kinds of these things to find the right one for me, that didn't lack in quality and had the specifications that fit my needs. I wasn't disappointed...because This Thing is AMAZING and I love it!! I'm a medical student, I read/study a ton and this thing works better than I thought it would! **Q: Would this work well for really large medical textbooks?**
A: Depends on the thickness of the book. It can just about manage my 400 page language instruction book, but those fat 1000 books will probably be too large and too heavy for this.

A: sure it will. it can hold big nursing books.

**Q: Is it easy to turn pages?**
A: Yes, the clips that hold the pages is very well position, allowing you to grab and turn the page and replace to hold the next page in place. Great product, I have search stores and this is the best item I found.

**Q: Does it work well for paperbacks?  I assume for typing from a sheet of paper you would need a clipboard behind due to the size?**
A: This stand works well with paperback books.  However, if the size of the book is a larger college text, you may want the bigger size so the edges are supported.

I love this thing..but I am an idiot and didn't read the instructions until AFTER.. but, the screws are in place and I thought you had to loosen them with a screw driver before adjusting...which you Do Not have to and are NOT supposed to. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy and well thought out

I am a teacher and I bought this book holder stand for my teacher's manuals, one manual weighs 7.5 lbs. and is extra-large in size containing 1100 pages. This book holder, as you can see in the first and second pictures, holds pages flat and sturdy; many pages at a time or few pages at a time with no slippage of the book. This is important to me because no matter what I would do in class the pages would slip, the book fall, or be awkward to view from a standing position. The fourth picture is of a manual that is taller than the first with 300 pages and works well. It not only holds books but also single sheets nicely, as seen in pictures 5 and 6. Lastly, the portability; this book holder weighs 1.92 lbs, and the book rest bar is 1 3/4" deep. The two arms that hold the pages are very strong and unobtrusive when reading as well as easy to move. The bar rest is a little tricky to fold. If you look at the bottom right and left corners there is a black angle piece that houses two screws. It appears to only be the screws, but look closer and you will see a small track that houses a peg. The peg moves along the slot stiffly and this allows the bar to fold. The back has a piece that has many tracks for viewing at different angles. This item fits into my briefcase. I have used this at home for lesson planning which made my work easier to view. I have used this product for about a week so I cannot speak to its durability. It appears to be built well with two areas that are made of plastic, the piece that holds the screws and pegs, and the back piece to adust for viewing angles, the main piece is wood. I highly recommend this product. I believe it is worth the money, $20.00, and will last a long time. I don't think you can go wrong with this product. It has been a great help to me.
