XL Nickel Wound electric bass strings, long recognized as the industry standard, are ideal for a wide range of musical styles. Review: great strings but.... - The strings were great, but the vendor used the code inside so we were unable to submit for the play points. Contacted D'addario and they credited us the points and admonished the vendor. Review: Awesome choice. - I've been playing Flatwounds for years because I was addicted to the thump and solid fundamental they give, and mellower sounds I could get - Rotosounds and more recently Labella DTB flats. The DAddarios are obviously not Flatwounds, but sounded good to my ears immedietly and I could coax darker mellow sounds if needed by rolling off the tone knob. After a week or so of playing they have nice thump, a meaty mid range which I love and works well for recording, and the bright 'clack' I usually associate with roundwound strings seems minimal. The playability is great, and its hard to beat 2 (separately packed and sealed) sets of strings for this price! I'm a convert. [I play a jazz bass with vintage reissue pickups, play worship band weekly and record indie rock / post rock music at home so I like moderately aggressive tone that I can dial back when needed. ## Features - BESTSELLING SET – Our best-selling electric bass strings, revered by players for their reliable performance and versatile tone. - TIGHT, BRIGHT TONE – Nickel-plated steel wrap wire provides a bright, tight bass sound, great for a variety of musical genres. - FOR THE ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE – Like all D’Addario bass strings, XL Nickel are made with our proprietary Hex-Core, ensuring perfect intonation, consistent feel, and powerful durability. - EARN REWARD POINTS - XL Nickel bass sets have a code on the recyclable VCI bag, which you can register to earn Players Circle points. - MADE IN THE USA – XL Nickel bass guitar strings are made in the USAβ€”drawn to our exacting specifications at our New York production facility. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0006IQLF4 | | Body Material Type | Nickel | | Brand | D'Addario | | Brand Name | D'Addario | | Coating Description | coated | | Coating description | coated | | Color | Multicolor | | Colour | Multicolor | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 123 Reviews | | Finish Type | Nickel | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00019954933777 | | Included Components | Only the strings | | Instrument | Bass Guitar | | Item Weight | 0.45 Pounds | | Manufacturer | D'Addario & Co. | | Manufacturer Part Number | EXL160TP | | Material Type | Nickel | | Model Name | EXL160TP | | Model Number | EXL160TP | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 2 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Bass Guitar | | Set Name | EXL160TP | | Sound Profile | Bright | | String Gauge | .05 | | String Material Type | Nickel | | String gauge | .05 | | String material type | Nickel | | UPC | 019954933777 | | Unit Count | 2 Count | | Warranty Description | Replace if Defective | ## Product Details - **Brand:** D'Addario - **Colour:** Multicolor - **Instrument:** Bass Guitar - **String gauge:** .05 - **String material type:** Nickel ## Images ![Bass Guitar Strings - XL Nickel Bass Strings - EXL160TP - Perfect Intonation, Consistent Feel, Powerful Durability - For 4 String Bass Guitars - 50-105 Medium, Long Scale, 2-Pack - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81wOpsUH9WL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Pattern, Color, Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ great strings but.... *by C***L on 19 November 2022* The strings were great, but the vendor used the code inside so we were unable to submit for the play points.
