Very sharp and incredibly easy to clean. Just rinse under hot water from several angles and allow to dry. I have used it for olives, strawberries, grape and cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. It saves me a lot of prep time and the slices are all the same size, which is great for cooking. Review: really useful - it allows one to slice up something (We use it for hard boiled eggs, strawberries) and at the same time deposit right where you want it, fast, easy. In the directions it says you cannot use hard vegetables. It should also add that one cannot use soft vegetables like tomatoes. As others have pointed out it is smaller than it looks. It turned my tomatoes into mush.
