There is a diference between the two. Blocks are the same but heads and intake are completely different. Tho, I out these in my 87 for, it has an engine from a 95 f350, hence and efi block.Installation was straight forward. Had to finess the driver side in and keep tightening everything a little at a time. Had a brake line in the way and had to move it too. Dip stick also needed to be re routed.Trans is a ZF5 with an e4od cross member for now but I do have a proper crossmember and both will clear.Plugged and welded the egr and O2 sensor ports. Though its efi heads and intake, I have a spacer that makes carburated and had no need for them.Truck is definately quieter and with a real exhaust it feels better. Can't really say much about power and efficiency as the whole engine and drive train on the truck are different than the origional.I'm happy with the purchase. Always wanted a set and these are very nice. The drivers side wasnt easy to get in but once bolted up they fit pretty decent. The y pipe didnt fit at all in my 1989 f250 zf5 4x4. Not a huge deal for me since I do welding and fabrication. I actually was able to cut apart the y pipe and make what I needed from it so I guess in a way they do fit. You just need a welder haha.
