Fasteners of a 1" length are included for installing the casters onto a metal platform or wood. I picked these up to install on a pair of Sealey automotive 2-post vehicle dollies. The dollies originally had smaller diameter wheels that would get hung up on concrete expansion joints during movement, so these casters with larger diameter wheels were substituted. The new casters are very smooth and roll across rough concrete well. The original casters had antiquated locking systems that were difficult to use, these newer casters have locks that are much easier to manipulate. The additional diameter of the wheels will provide nearly 2 additional inches of vertical height, which was sorely needed. desertcart (Rufus?) states that this is a frequently returned item. I would imagine a major reason for the high return rate is a somewhat unorthodox bolt pattern on the attachment flange. The bolt pattern matched my equipment in one dimension, but not another. This was solved by simply drilling two additional holes per caster, and using the original attachment hardware. All that would be required to do this is a suitable hand-held drill motor, some machine oil (to preserve the sharpness of the drill bit), and a suitable diameter bit. I used one of the cheaper bits in my toolbox, and it cut fine...the steel is durable but not exactly German quality, this is not an impossible task. The manufacturer makes it very clear what the dimensions and bolt pattern of the product is, so it would pay to become familiar prior to purchase to ensure it will work for your application. Finally, these are fine just the way they are, but it will take some time to evaluate their longevity. Some wheels with similar plastic tires on other equipment have disintegrated from exposure to temperature and sunlight, only time will tell if these do the same or are more durable.
