I'm 5'4 about 180 with a smaller waist but bigger butt and thighs, and the large fit me perfect. Could stretch a bit more but I like them with a little space, being a dance fitness instructor it's hard to find good leggings that aren't tight. These being high waisted makes them even better, the waist band is pretty thick so no muffintop-like waist cut off.
