Extreme care needs to be taken by unqualified DIY’ers. The bulb on our Dunelm microwave failed so after a bit of searching I decided on this bulb fitting as a replacement. It surprised me that this requires a complete unit consisting of bulb AND holder which I discovered to my cost when removing the failed one, thinking it would simply unscrew like an oven or cooker hood bulb. It shattered in my hand causing cut fingers so again care needs to be taken here as well. There are many variations out there of bulb fittings but this one being 25 watt was the one I decided on being of the same power. Removing and replacing the unit was fairly simple and straightforward. Although, at nearly £8, more expensive than some, it’s well worth it for a reliable unit that worked straight away.Update 13/03/24: When another purchaser raised the question of whether I got a 20 or25 watt bulb I checked and found I actually got a 20 watt bulb which does work albeit less bright but it’s not what I ordered. Why they offer 20 and 25 watt but only send 20 watt is slapdash but not worth returning.
