Review: Good for premanufactured home heaters. - Glad you had it, neither Lowe's or Home Depot had it, and putting a higher wattage element would had caused electrical problems. I installed it a year ago.
Review: Serves its purpose well! - I utilized this element in a bit of a different manner, instead of running it off of 240 AC, I tied it to a set of solar panels that make 220 DC. They only make 1100 watts but the resistance of this element (this was attempt #3) matched my panels perfectly! On a good day my 40 gallon tank will make 190 degree water! That equates to almost 80 gallons of usable water with no grid electricity or gas!

**Q: Why is this considered a high watt rather than a low watt density element? What is the length and thread size?**
A: The heater with 1 inch NPT flange has 350mm tube length. and it has 5500w wattage.

**Q: Whirlpool model e2f40rd045v. says for 1 phase 240v, 4500 for lower element. will this element work with my water heater?**
A: It depends on whether your existing element is a screw in type or a bolt on type. This is a screw in type element. So if your water heater is a 240 volt with screw in elements then it will work.

**Q: Will this fit Ruud pe-30 d hot water heater?**
A: Yes.  It's 100% compatible with all water heaters that have ever been made. Including European models which use metric water flow.

**Q: I have a 240v hydro turbine that produces 1600w. Will this element work for me**
A: We think you shoud use the lower power heater which is smaller than 1600w
