Strong odor in the beginning but definitely smells better than musty karate gloves. I let it hag in the basement for 2 days to air out and become less Intense. These work great for keeping you gloves fresher, although I use a Clorox-style wipe to sanitize my gloves and dry with a cloth after my workout. The refills are easy to replace and keep for a while, although I should replace them every three months.
