The Makita-built motor delivers up to 160 PSI. An auto-stop function automatically stops inflation when the preset air pressure is obtained. This helps prevent overfill. There are three speed settings: high, medium, and low. The inflator also features an air-release button, high visibility pressure gauge display with backlight, and an L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area. A 25-1/2” hose length provides better reach. The compact design allows for easy portability and convenient storage. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. ## Features - Powerful high-volume pump for faster inflation; delivers up to 160 PSI - Conveniently tops off cars and light truck tires with speed and ease - Easily inflates vehicle tires, bicycle tires, sports balls, and more - Auto-stop function automatically stops inflation when preset air pressure is reached to prevent overfill - Three speed settings (High/Medium/Low) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09Q4ZDCKB | | Additional Features | Pressure Detection | | Best Sellers Rank | #20,891 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #14 in Portable Air Compressors | | Brand | Makita | | Brand Name | Makita | | Color | Teal | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 797 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00088381750820 | | Hose Length | 25.5 inches | | Included Components | Presta valve adapter;Sports ball needle;Tapered adapter | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 12"L x 12"W x 12"H | | Item Type Name | Makita DMP181ZX 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless High-Pressure Inflator, Tool Only | | Item Weight | 4.6 pounds | | Manufacturer | Makita | | Manufacturer Part Number | DMP181ZX | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 3-year limited warranty | | Material Type | Aluminum, Plastic | | Maximum Pressure | 160 | | Model Name | Makita DMP181ZX 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless High-Pressure Inflator, Tool Only | | Model Number | DMP181ZX | | Noise | 85 db | | Noise Level | 85 db | | Number of Items | 1 | | Power Source | Battery Powered | | Recommended Uses For Product | Tire Inflation | | Special Feature | Pressure Detection | | Style | Cordless | | UPC | 088381750820 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Voltage | 18 volts | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Makita - **Noise Level:** 85 db - **Power Source:** Battery Powered - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Tire Inflation - **Voltage:** 18 volts ## Images ![DMP181ZX 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless High-Pressure Inflator, Tool Only, Teal - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51rk44+31oL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does the dmp181zx have a higher volume of air compared to the dmp180zx** A: I own both compressors. Yes the 181 has a larger displacement pump than the 180. I have used both to inflate larger truck and equipment tires. The 180 is adequate to handle household tasks and is a great compressor. The 181 is a bit larger in displacement so it will fill faster. I’ve yet to have a need to fill anything over 110 PSI . The newer model will do so easier with less effort and faster. On a side note, I wish Makita would do away with the trigger and just have an auto fill, but I do understand it from a safety standpoint. Overall, They’re both great tools. I do like the larger one better however both will perform adequately. **Q: Does trigger lock in place, or must it be held down while airing up, like the 180 model?** A: They sell a Velcro accessory to lock the trigger, and it still shuts off when it hits pressure shutoff. You can search here or on the big auction site that starts with E **Q: Does this tool have a Brushless motor?** A: No. **Q: How long will it take to bring a car/truck tire from say 28 psi to 36 psi?** A: Just a minute or so. The unit worked very well for me in airing up my 40 psi tires. ## Frequently Bought Together - Makita DMP181ZX 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless High-Pressure Inflator, Tool Only - Makita XMT03Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Multi-Tool, Tool Only - Makita XOB01Z 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless 5" Random Orbit Sander, Tool Only --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/400697867-dmp181zx-18v-lxt-lithium-ion-cordless-high-pressure-inflator-tool](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/400697867-dmp181zx-18v-lxt-lithium-ion-cordless-high-pressure-inflator-tool) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
