## Description

There's nothing that says summer more than a vine-ripened tomato, and Weston Deluxe electric tomato strainer allows you to process and preserve the flavors of summer to enjoy the whole year through. And it's not for just tomatoes. 3 strainer sizes (tomato/Berry - 1 mm), (Pumpkin -3 mm), (salsa - 6mm) makes it easy to process large batches of berries, Pumpkins and other fruits for canning sauces, jams & salsa. A powerful 250 watt motor makes easy work of processing, and a reverse function prevents jamming. The large hopper holds a gallon of produce.

Review: Excellent machine - I am so impressed with this machine.. easy to assemble..easy to clean... easy to use and the green bowl is all the waste from 2 bowl fulls of tomatoes. It makes sause..salsa..and will do berries . I made 8 cups of really great tasting sauce straight from my garden .should also add came fast ty.
Review: Read the instructions - I had older Victorio manual crank model; time consuming, but I did it. Later, bought add-on motor to make it electric. It leaked all over the place from every end, but I used it for years. I just got the Weston model this week, used for 1st time today. Once I put it together, I finished 7 qts of tomato sauce to freeze in 30 minutes. No leaks, works great. But read the instructions! I had watched a woman do tomatoes in one on a video. First thing I noticed is gray juice running out of her machine. 1. The head is aluminium. If you run it through the dishwasher, it's no longer shiny. Instructions say only plastic parts are dishwasher safe. 2. Instructions say to coat head with food-grade silicone spray. -bc we all have that sitting around.🙄 I lightly coated with vegetable oil; no gray juice. Instructions say to chop food into smaller pieces and not to run for more than 5 minutes at a time. I noted one review complained hers caught on fire, so I figured that was a good rule to follow. I cleaned my tomatoes, did not blanch, cut up some into a container, ran them through, shut it off and cleared shute before preparing another container full. May sound tedious, but -7 quarts of sauce in 30 minutes! The manual style made doing tomatoes a long process. Adding a motor to it made a horrible mess with wasted product & clean up a nightmare. THIS is so worth following the instructions, and clean up was a breeze. I noted one review complained about the shute being so low that it was hard to get a decent sized bowl under it. Maybe they rectified that bc shute is adjustable. BUT: With the manual model, having the shoot too high caused a back up and - you guessed it-leaks. But I was limited on where I could use it bc it mounted to the edge of a countertop with a clamp. This Weston model has no clamp and can be used anywhere. I set it next to the sink with a large bowl and small bowl sitting in the sink. The product came out of the shute into large bowl and the skin/waste went into small bowl. Clean up was a breeze! Noise level- not as loud as the add on motor I had. Not a heavy duty motor, I understand why they advice to not run continuously. Value- phenominal, given time and product saved, no mess, easy clean up, user friendly set up (if you read the instructions). If they had used stainless for the head, the gray residue wouldn't be an issue, but comparing prices of higher end models, it makes it more affordable to use aluminium.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Black liquid streaks come out at front wing nut. Cleaned twice and even soaked parts. Used food-grade silicon spray lube. Should we return it?**
A: Black liquid is seeping out when using it, right? There is a couple of possibilities as the source of the "Black liquid streaks": 1.) an oil leak of some sort. 2.) juices from what ever your running through. Is the 'Black Liquid" oily or not? If it's oily it could be gear oil mixed with metal from the gears, which is a sign of significant wear on these parts. It could also be wear on a black O-ring. If it's the 2nd possibility - juices flushing out stuff inside the augur or gears it still sounds like excessive wear to me. If it's under warranty, I would return it! But I've only had the one, this might be normal operating seepage. Personally, mine didn't last long enough for "Black Liquid" to streak it, my blackberries destroyed it inside of 2 minutes use! For my purposes, I won't buy another Weston electric food mill. I'm going much more expensive one the next go around with a better warranty! Getting parts for the Weston isn't fun either.

**Q: Can this only run for 3 minutes like reviews say?**
A: Baloney! I've used mine for 3 canning seasons now, and it runs like a foot soldier. I typically do 22 quarts of tomatoes (lightly pre-cooked in an electric roaster first so I get all the pulp and only leave behind the skins and seeds) at a time. In under 9 minutes, we're done. I'm worn out by then, not the machine! Whoever came up with the '3-minute rule' was either nuts, or protecting the company without any facts to back it up. My 2 cents worth.

**Q: Can this work for mashed potatoes like a ricer?**
A: I've only used it for Tomatoes 🍅 sauce and it's an excellent machine. I really loved it. Easy-to-use and easy to clean too... but, I have never used it for potatoes.

**Q: Can you make chow chow with this**
A: no, the strainers are not big enough, it will just make juice and salsa but not the bigger chunks for chow chow

I would say do not hesitate to buy this if you are comparing, look no further. The price is amazing and it works better than the way more expensive models! You will not regret this purchase! It made my tomato sauce making a breeze and the skins and seeds separated where they came out so dry, maximizing every bit of goodness from the tomato’s. comes with multiple size strainer attachments for making so many things. Best purchase ever!!!
