You can access your phones menu by pressing & holding down the function button on the ear piece. You'll then hear a prompt ding that's when you say what it is that you need the phone to do(i.e., Call Tim or Text message girlfriend, etc.). You can also press the function button once & it will start/stop you're music file(s). The cool thing about this is that there are 2 speakers in this gizmo, 1 is where you see the ear bud(phone call) & the other is in the swivel part(multimedia). This is so handy because you can listen to music, news, TV show in your ear at a reasonable level without distractions, as well as, even hear ambient noises. The microphone also swivels up & down which is handy for the different face types. It's very ergonomic plus a full battery lasts all day for me.
